Fast, fun sailing with an optional gennaker or a leisurely meander with family and friends. Stratos Keel is versatile and easy to sail with rewarding performance.
"Keel boat stability and plenty of performance - it's a great combination and forget any misconceptions that the lifting keel version is without the fun and sparkle of the standard Stratos – she flies"
Stratos Keel lets you choose where you go, what you do and who you do it with.
The ultimate family day sailor with attitude and keel boat stability that makes every day a fun day. With Stratos Keel your horizons are unlimited and you choose the boat you want to suit the day. Whether its cruising in Middle Harbour or just a relaxing evening sail, you choose to match the mood of the moment and the company you keep.
Stratos Keel Stability. The inherent design stability of the Stratos Keel hull not only makes sailing fun and relaxing but means that she can be left on moorings un-attended.
The 100kg lifting keel adds stacks of stability to an already stable hull form. What's more, when raised the keel adds only 15cm to the draft so launching and recovery are still straightforward. Raising and lowering the keel is simplicity itself thanks to the clever multi-purchase hoist system operated from the centre of the cockpit.
Stratos Keel making sailing Easier, more Exciting and more Appealing.
Keelboat stability, lots of room for family and friends and incorporating the best innovations of recent years that have made sailing so much faster, more fun, easier and enjoyable.
The gennaker, with its single line 'easylaunch' system, is simple to operate and adds fun to daysailing. The Mylar mainsail can be reefed in minutes whilst afloat and a furling jib is standard.
The Stratos Keel inspires many of those who previously never considered themselves to be 'dinghy sailors' - or who felt that they were no longer agile enough to enjoy the thrill and performance of modern small boat sailing.
For families the Stratos Keel provides the reassurance of additional stability with the option of high speed action when the mood suits.
The power source is modern and easily handled. The “Combi-tec” Mylar mainsail incorporates a full length top batten and shorter battens further down the sail. Latest sail materials benefit from full length batten control but a fully battened sail is hard to de-power and presents problems ashore. The Combi-tec system offers the best of both worlds and can even be reefed for high winds and beginners. A furling jib is standard which means that Stratos can be de-powered in under ten seconds.
Launching and Recovery is easy. The lightweight robust launching trolley is perfectly balanced and the boat floats free in seconds. Recovery is just as simple and the separate road base for towing means that those precious wheel bearings never get wet and you have care free travel.
Getting ready for action. From the moment you arrive with the Stratos Keel in towing mode, to the moment you set sail, we estimate 30 minutes. If you keep your Stratos Keel at a sailing club with the mast up or afloat on a mooring, you could be sailing within 10 minutes of arriving at the club. This means that you spend all your leisure time afloat having fun
Maintenance. Stratos Keel is hand built in high quality fibreglass. It's robust, great looking and requires virtually no maintenance.
Why Stratos Keel? Because you want a versatile day boat with extreme stability that provides race performance with room and security for family and friends.
